Livable Remodeling

We understand that remodeling is a messy and disruptive experience by its very nature. We do everything we can to make your time during construction as easy to live through as possible. Most of our customers live in their homes while the remodeling work is being completed, and while most people are somewhat prepared for the dust, noise, and disruption of the renovation, it can still be something that requires some adjusting. Gitt Constructions commitment to livable remodeling helps to make some of the daily challenges of living in a construction site, a bit easier for you and your family.

Communication

All remodeling projects are assigned to Builder Trend our dedicated Project management tool. An project superintendent will help to manage your home’s remodel. In addition to working with your designer, who remains in consistent contact with you throughout the renovation, you will be working closely with your personal project superintendent. The superintendent plays a huge role in keeping you updated, keeping the project flowing smoothly, and answering the inevitable questions that arise during construction.

Timing

How long your remodel project will it take? To help give you a sense of what to expect, we provide you with an estimated schedule of how the work will progress, which includes the target completion date. You’ll have daily communication with your project superintendent to stay abreast of what’s planned for today, how things are progressing, and to answer any questions or concerns you might have. We know that you are anxious to make it through construction and enjoy the new space, so we do everything we can to help you get there as efficiently and quickly as possible.

Cleanliness

Cleanliness is a priority for each and every project, and you’ll find that we take some additional steps that aren’t typical in our industry to contain the mess and the dust often associated with construction. The work area will be contained as much as possible by plastic barrier walls with zipper entrances. Carpeted areas in the path of tradesmen will be covered with plastic. Each and every job also has an air scrubber with a HEPA filter by Build Clean that does a particularly good job of removing airborne dust before it can get to the rest of your home. Our craftsmen will clean up their work areas at the end of each day, and at the completion of the project, a professional cleaning crew will do a thorough cleaning of your newly remodeled space.

Safety

Homes built prior to 1978 might contain lead paint, so we check for lead prior to renovation work beginning, and always follow Lead Safe work practices when lead is detected. Gaining certifications for lead safe and OSHA (general safety) keeps our team on top of the latest advances in health and safety for our team as well as your family.

Accessibility

We use a lock box to control access to your home for the tradesmen, which leaves you free to schedule your time as you see fit, no need to wait around to let people in and out of the house. We also provide portable toilets for the tradesmen so that they do not impact the other areas of your home any more than necessary.

This is your home, and while it also becomes a worksite, we never forget about the families that we are impacting on a daily basis. Our typical work hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and we don’t work on Saturday without your permission; never on Sundays or holidays.
